Top 10 Favourites: Pakistan Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2013

We've finally managed to narrow down our top 10 favourites from PBCW! Once again, the show displayed work from the best of the best bridal designers in Pakistan. Designers showcased many different colours, but most of the outfits were in the more subtle spectrum, offering plenty of inspiration for this years spring and summer brides. Some noticeable trends from this bridal week were jacket-style gowns (which we have mentioned here as one of our favourite ways to wear long sleeves) and "kaam colour-blocking" which basically means a mix gold and silver kaam. Take a look at our favourites below:

10. Mifrahs
A great classic outfit that will never get tiring to look at. Love the gold polka dot border on the bottom.

9. HSY
The first red ombre bridal I've seen and it looks amazing. This is perfect for any bride who wants to keep the traditional red bridal look but still stay current on trends.

8. Teena by Hina Butt
The colour combination of this outfit is so fresh and festive. Love the jamawar layering underneath the chiffon.

7. Zaheer Abbas
The kaam colour-blocking works well with the dark navy. Also drooling over the bling on the sleeves!

6. Tabassum Mughal
When done right, kaam colour-blocking can make an outfit look incredibly regal. This outfit is fit for a queen!

5. Sana Abbas
The delicate colours with the gold print work so well together and with the pop of hot pink inside the jacket, this outfit stood out as a refreshing look.

4. Zaheer Abbas
This is an amazing formal outfit. The rich colour and elongating silhouette make this outfit so elegant. Loving the kaam on the sleeves by Zaheer Abbas again.

3. Sana Abbas
This is the perfect outfit for an outdoor summer wedding or even a valima outfit. The blush colour is to die for!

2. Asifa and Nabeel
Coral, cream, and forest green is such a unique and beautiful colour combination. This outfit is stunning!

1. Zainab Chottani
Something is so regal and elegant about gold and cream together. The cut, kaam, and colours blend flawlessly together which is why this is our top pick of PBCW 2013!

Inspiration Weddings: Disney's Princesses

Every girl's dream is to look and feel like a princess on her big day. So why not take some inspiration from the princesses we've grown up watching? See our picks below for bridal and bridesmaids outfits inspired by 6 Disney princesses.

If you're going for the princess theme, consider having you and each bridesmaid represent a princess. Each one of you can dress up as the princess at your bridal shower. At the wedding, you can wear the bridal inspired by your princess and each one of your bridesmaids can wear a formal outfit inspired by their princess. It'll be a fun recurring theme to look back on through your photos!

Elegantly Divine: Full-Sleeve Bridal Inspirations

Full-sleeve bridals are our latest obsession these days, so how could we not write a blog post about this super elegant look? Check out some of the styles we love below:

The Mahira Khan-esque Chiffon Sleeve
Yes, we named a category after Mahira Khan. Not only because we love her, but because she is probably the best model for full-sleeves. She somehow manages to carry them so beautifully. Chiffon sleeves are perfect if you prefer a lighter look for your wedding. Or, they would be perfect for your mehndi outfit! Notice that the sleeves on the yellow dress are actually ruched from the wrist to about half way up the arm to give a churidaar effect. Brilliant!

The Embellished Arm
I don’t think this category needs an explanation. The pictures below speak for themselves. Oh so divine!

Bunto Kazmi
The outfit on the right is SO something Mahira Khan would wear! She even looks like her!
Elan
Emerald stones on the sleeves are just gorgeous!

The Cuff Sleeve

Taking it a step further from the Embellished Arm, this style eliminates the need for bracelets. Beautiful and practical? We’re sold!

The Royal Jacket
Okay, so this is probably our favourite style. A regal jacket paired with full sleeves is just drool-worthy.

Runway to Reality: Modern Royalty

Check out this stunning bridal by HSY that a bride recently wore to her wedding. We love how the non-traditional pairing of plum and orange still looks regal with the intricate embroidery on the outfit. It looks even more beautiful on the real bride, in our opinion ;)

PFDC L'Oreal Paris Bridal Week 2011: Top 10 Favourites

PFDC L'Oreal Paris Bridal Week 2011 was a four day event showcasing bridal fashion from top Pakistani fashion designers. Today we are counting down our top 10 favourite looks from the event!

10. Sonia Azhar
Orange and red is an awesome colour combination. This would be a great festive outfit for the sister of the bride/groom to wear at the mehndi.

9. Sonia Azhar
This colour is so unique for bridal wear - we would love to see a real bride in this outfit!

8. Sonia Azhar
Loving this floor-length kameez - a very streamlined look!

7. Asifa & Nabeel
This number has the perfect mix of modern and traditional.

6. Rouge
Grey is such an elegant colour to wear to weddings. This gown is even great for the older ladies!

5. Rouge
Navy blue was back with a bang this bridal week and we are so glad! You absolutely cannot go wrong with this regal and timeless colour.
4. Sara Rohale Asghar
The non-traditional route is a big trend for brides these days. We think this is the perfect mehndi outfit for the bold and regal bride!

3. Umar Sayeed
Fawad and Mahira from Humsafar fame (see our blog post here) rocked the finale in their gorgeous Umar Sayeed outfits. Totally loving the colours and the intricate kaam - having models like that to showcase it doesn't hurt either!

2. Rouge
This is Rouge's third appearance in our countdown, but can you really blame us? This outfit is just so beautiful and feminine.

1. Asifa & Nabeel
We are suckers for black and white, especially when it's done amazingly well like this. The white has just the perfect hint of grey and its silkiness against the bold black is just stunning. This is a classic piece that will last forever!
